National Independence Day of the Republic of Poland
Ladies and Gentlemen,
On this November evening it is my pleasure to welcome you to celebrate together the 104th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence. I am very glad that I kept my promise to organize these celebrations every year in different Cypriot city. After Nicosia in 2018, Limassol in 2019 and Paphos in 2021, now it is time for Larnaka. I would like to thank Mayor Andreas Vyras for his hospitality and valuable support.
On November 11th we pay tribute to all those, thanks to whom Poland regained its independence after 123 years of partitions. We admire the achievements of outstanding politicians, “Fathers of Independence”, but also of millions of ordinary Poles who made it possible that our country re-emerged and defended its sovereignty. This year our thoughts are also directed towards Ukraine which for over eight months has been fighting heroically against the Russian aggressor. Glory to Ukraine! Слава Україні!
I cordially invite you to listen to the piano concert by Wojciech Waleczek who will perform the pieces of Fryderyk Chopin and the contemporary composer David Pentecost, as well as the arrangements of famous songs of The Beatles.
